Raglani 'Classically Sprained'

Excellent slab of ambient synth workouts from way back in '09.
Came out in what was truly a golden year for the style, and specifically for Arbor records.
Long since sold out.

Robert Ashley 'Private Parts'

Ashley remains an overlooked composer, whose explorations of the written/spoken word and it's role in music were well ahead of his time.
His contemporaries, whom he stood quite apart from, still overshadow his work (Glass, Cage, Monk, etc)
This is an adapted version of his opera, Private Parts.

This is an excellent document by Peter Greenaway on the opera mentioned above:

Up next on Cellar: Youth Championships 'A Long Day of Exorcism'

Pleased to announce part of our upcoming batch, the debut of Youth Championships.
A long form experiment in sequences and morphing processes, inspired by the architecture of science fiction and the nightmare of imagining a future world.

February. Edition of 10.

Pelt 'Brown Cyclopedia'

Pelt's first record from 1995. These organic, old school droners still drone on to this day, and if you are a London dweller you can find them at Cafe OTO this year.

Menstrual Chinese Dream (2004)

Easily my favourite Ferraro project from the year it was released.
Bells and chants echo out of a stereo, placed ambitiously within a crowded public square.
Unlike many of his others. Enjoy.

All CLR orders were shipped today, if you are waiting for a cassette!

Anna Homler & Steve Moshier 'Bread Woman'

Breadwoman is a storyteller — she’s so very old she’s turned into bread. Breadwoman says: If you don’t try to understand, you will. She is the voice, and the voice is cosmic reality’s musicality. Through Breadwoman & Other Tales, we hear material meet mythos.

An excellent rip of the original 1985 tape. Recently Homler went back on tour as Breadwoman, reciting her pre-language verses across the world. At once hypnotic and somehow groovy.

Davenport Family 'The Weakest Link can Pull the Heavy Load Out of the Blues and on to the Road'

Another slab of heavy droning and wailing from the Davenport team. I miss these guys.
We are currently sold out of Wim Dehaen's Pardubicean.wav
Happy new year
